Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 with five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the season, the music was played throughout Dreamville. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was the result of her participation to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream of the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. This track, which was made available with a video on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been watched over 3 million times in the first 7 days. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
